History

Greiser’s Coffee & Market is a charming country store and cafe located in a 250-year-old building at the scenic center of Easton, Conn. Since 1926, three generations of the Greiser family — Arthur, Richard, and Dick — have served the community by operating, variously, a luncheonette, a general store, the town post office, a gas station and deli, and an antiques business here.

In 2018, Dick Greiser consolidated his antiques and gas business to the rear and lower level of the building to allow the establishment of Greiser’s Coffee & Market in the store front.

The new store pays homage to the old, with a congenial country cafe ambiance, locally made goods, and a spirit of community, while also catering to sophisticated 21st century tastes in coffee, tea, meals, and groceries with specialty, sustainable, and organic selections.
